TABLE OF CONTENTS OF MODULE 2

​

The artist Gabriela Céspedes, who has been involved in puppet theater for more than thirty years, offers us a journey through the universe of lighting, a discipline in which she has become an international benchmark. In this second training module, Gabriela proposes the creation of a prototype show or small-format project around which we will work a series of technical aspects that will allow us to understand and learn about the principles, complexity and importance of lighting in our stagings.

The work process begins with an object manipulation exercise, as a trigger for a possible story to be told, regardless of whether it starts from a previous idea. From here it will be possible to analyze work and construction methods of the boxes and, through the mediation of the trainer, find and apply possible solutions for each particular idea.

​

We will recreate theatrical scenes in a miniature space on both a physical and temporal scale. Then, these two parameters, plus the argument of the work, will determine the amount of light movements necessary for our lighting installation. There will be at least one light movement per lambe lambe theater box.

 

At the end of this module, a cardboard MODEL BOX will be built, for a single spectator, with the possible technical resolution of manipulation, dramaturgy, scenographic approach and minimum lighting system, according to the ideas, possibilities and needs of each participant

 

The proposal consists of the following parts:

• Introduction of the basic principles of electrical systems for Lambe Theater boxes - Lambe

​

• Realization of a basic circuit to stage a Lambe Theater box - Lambe or another small-format project

​

• Development of an initial idea that will lead us to the process of building a box - a cardboard model with a lighting system of a show in the Lambe - Lambe Theater format, for a single spectator.

 

• Object manipulation exercises

 

• Lighting recreation of a full-scale theatrical staging transferred into a space at the scale of our miniature boxes with the possible technical resolution of manipulation, dramaturgy, scenographic approach and minimum lighting system, according to the ideas, possibilities and needs of each participant. Final construction and sound editing is not will perform in this workshop.
